Will shoulder surgery jeopordize commisioning as a Marine Corps Officer?

I am a junior in college and recently had surgery to repair a separated shoulder. I have been planning on joining the Marine Corps by either PLC or OCC after college. I am aware I will need a waiver, and the shoulder is healing very well. First hand knowledge on the topic would be great!

I don’t have any first hand knowledge about the Marines, especially being an officer, but I doubt a shoulder surgery will hinder your chances as long as you don’t have any chronic problems.

If you have a history of recurrent separation of that shoulder it is disqualifying, whether you have the surgery or not. Assuming the surgery was done to correct a single episode of separation of the shoulder girdle, the joint is now stable and your flexion and abduction are ninety degrees or better or range of motion, it should not disqualify you.
