Like British marines are trained for 32 weeks – not including an odd holiday or two, and US marines are trained for 16 weeks. Also british marines generally do slightly different jobs from us marines.
Why so different?

the USMC is a larger force then britains, britiains marines are special operators while the USMC is a shock force

its like comparing the green berets to a regular infantry unit

*EDIT* the 13 weeks USMC does is basic training, there is much more training after that

Because they are British Marines (maybe they have a bigger learning disability)

The Royal Marines double as Britain’s amphibious special operations force. They both have long histories and they just evolved into different thing, USMC being more conventional (apart from MARSOC) and the Jollies becoming more like commandos.

Different country means different armed force training and service.
