What to put in a Marines boot camp care package?

Hi everyone
Hi everyone
My boyfriend has been at Marine boot camp for about 3 weeks. I just got a letter from him today saying that they ARE allowed to receive a package, if it has things for the whole platoon like cough drops or protein bars or magazines. My first question is what else are good things to send? And also how many recruits make up a platoon? Like how many people am I looking at here haha. Any suggestions, comments? Help?!

Well its been 4 years since i went through, im kind of wondering if the DI is doing it because he wants to make everyones day horrible. I wouldnt send him anything personally. Lol just in case they are playing with them. And wow, boot camp must have gotten a whole hell of a lot easier, packages, what a joke. Somewhere around 60

Wow, I can see the cough drops and maybe protein bars!! But do not and I say do not send him and candy or anything like that. The best thing I can suggest is not sending a care package, it can get him in trouble even though you had all good intentions.
There are usually around 80 Marines this time a years in a platoon.
Also because of what you send letters are good, do not send any “pictures” not saying that you would but unless you want everyone seeing your business then do not send them. But do write him as much as you can he looks forward to mail everyday that is his Escape and helps him mentally knowing your ok and support him in everything he is doing. PLEASE PLEASE if you must break up with him do not send it in a letter.
Hope that helps good luck!!

Write lots of letters!
If you do want to send a package, stationary is always good. Postcards are cheap, and you can put enough in so that the whole platoon can write to their family. Even just a roll / book of stamps, make sending letters a bit easier. Notepaper, pens, stupid things like that that aren’t going to get him into trouble, or suggest that he is weak or anything, but that are useful.
But mostly, just write letters. And lots of em!
If you want to include a picture in a letter, as the others have said, make sure its one you don’t mind everyone seeing. Maybe just a nice wallet size pic of the two of you that he doesn’t have with him.
