What should I do to prepare mentally for boot camp?

I’ve been thinking about joining the Naval reserves. I know I need to train physically, but what about mentally. Are there exercises to strength mental toughness or emotional stenght? What about subjects to read about before joining?

Get a crew cut before you go in, so you have time to get used to it.
Think about obeying orders without question no matter how ridiculous.

Good Luck
If you train to be physically fit, your mind will follow.
The only people that say “Never question orders in the military” probably have military experience by watching MASH or Gomer Pyle.
I was in the service for 22 years. I had to question orders, it is part of the MDMP.

realize now that your an idiot for joining. that way it wont be such a shock later on. whatever you do when you are there do not volunteer to join the bowling team unless you enjoy cleaning toilets. have someone smack you every time you put your hands in your pockets. i did that to my bf before he went in, he learned real quick. get used to pain, the fastest way to get out is to graduate even if you are injured

Read the book, The Celebration of Discipline, by Richard Foster.
Pray. Learn to deny yourself in ways within reach right now – skip a meal, get and stay on a schedule, do things for people that are inconvenient. Decide to stop whining. Think positively even in negative circumstances.
