Nothing the only thing you can bring is a list of addresses so you can write to them… also like religious things like maybe a necklace with a cross on it or something

Are you speaking of boot camp?

If you are then you take an id, the clothes on your body and that will be it..

I imagine you’d be allowed some of the same things as the Army..

for basic training.. there’s not much you’re allowed

    stationary, writing utensils and stamps
    address book
    pics of family
    bible
of course your wallet with ID, birth cert. ss card.. bank/credit cards, check book, cash, phone card
personal hygene items.. soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor (not electric), shaving cream, comb/brush
jewlery is limited to a wedding band

If you have prescription eye wear or medications take those with you.. however as you go thru processing, you will have to get prescription medications from the medics there.. and you will be issued prescription glasses.

Thats about all I can think of.. most everything else will be issued to you.. or you will be given the oppourtunity to buy specific items at the PX.. anything else you bring with you will be stored away during basic training anyways. I reccommend to pack as light as you can.. otherwise its just more stuff to drag around from processing until you get settled into your basic training barracks.

Things not to even bother bringing
    cellphones
    any other types of electronics
books/magazines of any kind (other than the bible)
weapons or pocket knives (will be confiscated)
tobacco or alchohol products (will be confiscated)
    lighter (will be confiscted)
medications not prescribed to you.. including OTC medications.. if you have a need for motrin or tylenol, it will be prescribed to you by a medic (will be confiscated)
food or drinks (will be confiscated)
    cards or board games

dont bring more than a day or two’s worth of civilian clothing.. they will just be stored away anyways.

Nothing, aside from the clothes you’re wearing, the contents of your wallet, and a bible, if you’re so inclined.

Absolutely nothing. We were stripped clean except for the clothes we were wearing.

For boot camp, they want you to take nothing with you except the clothing on your back, and $20 in your wallet, next to your social security card and ID. That’s it. They provide literally everything else you will need.

Once you’re through with boot camp and SOI/MCT, you’ll be sent either to a technical school or to your first duty station. Once that happens, you can have whatever you want.

When you ship out for boot camp you’re allowed to take – your social security card, driver’s license (or other form of valid photo ID), $20, your recruiter’s business card, and an address book. Once you’re done your 13 weeks of boot camp then you’re allowed to start having personal possessions again
