Like I said in my other question I am out of shape… I am in the DEP program and I leave to bootcamp Sept. 22nd. I have plenty of time to get ready but I don’t know what I need to be doing other than running, pull ups, and crunches. I would like for someone to just give me a daily routine of exercises that I could do everyday until bootcamp so I can get ready. I would also like to know what kind of things do drill instructors make you do as a punishment, etc. Thanks alot.

Each morning do 2 hours jog .. try to get your chin ups and push ups closer to 70 reps in one go. And stay in good shape ( away from drugs ) … Enjoy !

Something good to work in is to take a deck of cards and do push ups or situps for the face value of the card

Start running and doing push-ups, pull-ups, and crunches, but most of all set your mind to working together. The whole point of Marine Boot is to get you to become a Marine — a member of a coheret fighting unit.
Get to know yourself while you are still in a tranquil environment. Learn your stressors.
You will be stressed, you will be given tasks at which you will fail, but the goal is to demonstrating creative thinking (problem solving) and completion of mission.

Depends on where you are starting from. Can you run one mile now or no miles?

    That info would help.

What you need to do for the running portion is go to runner’s world’s web site and there is a training section with categories that starts with beginner (someone who is not running yet) all the way up to marathon runners. Pick the one that fits your level and do what they tell you.

If you are a beginner they tell you to start out with 1 mile. You run until you are tired then without stopping you slow down to a walk until you can run again, then you run until you are tired down to a walk. repeat until you finish the mile. You keep doing this until you can run around 60 percent of the mile then you do the same thing but you make your total distance 1 1/2 miles and you repeat the same trainning as you did for the 1 mile and then at 60% you move up to 2 miles and so on until you reach your goal.

As for the others just start doing sit up leg lifts and push up and pull ups. its not rocket science on training for that the more you do the more you will be able to do.

Go to LAVADOG’s website and look around. There is a lot of good info on there. Sense I am in the same boat as you (accept I am not leaving until January) I am trying to get to were I can do 100 push ups in 2 minutes. 100 sit ups in 2 minutes and 3 miles in 18 minutes. Also 20 pull ups. If you can get this you will be in great shape.
