What happens after my boyfriend graduates from marine boot camp?

my boyfriend and i live 20 minutes away from camp pendelton where he is currently doing his boot camp. after he graduates and gets like his ten day vacation, will he be going back to pendelton or anywhere? is it random where they go? or is it supposed to be close to where they live?

Where he gets stationed depends on his MOS.

After Graduation, 10 days leave. Report back to Camp Pendelton for MCT or SOI. Then he goes to another base someplace in the country based off of his MOS. From that base he could stay there or go to another base for further training. Once his schooling os complete he will be sent to his First Duty Station, where he will be for a minimum of 3 years before he can request orders to another base.

Boot camp isnt done at Pendleton. BC is done either at MCRD San Diego (downtown) or MCRD Parris Island, SC. Once he has finished it, there is no guarantee that he will get 10 days off, because he hasn’t earned that many days yet. You get 2.5 days per month. Where he reports will depend on what he is doing, what schooling needs to be done, etc.. Even in school there can be limitations on what he is allowed to do, where he can go, etc… It has nothing to do with where they are from when it comes to that, it depends on the job he will be doing.
