When I finished Marine Boot, my parents presented me with a standard plaque, with my Corps picture enameled, with a gold plate at the bottom, with all my graduation information.
Add some personal touches and its a memento he will cherish and keep his whole life.

Marine Corps Coins would be great or a t-shirt to wear with pride from where he graduated from either Parris Island or San Diego. There is a great Moto online store that sells all Marine Corps items I bought alot of my stuff there that I couldnt find on base.
Tell Him Semper Fi and Welcome to the Family

theh last thing the kid wants is a shirt that says “devil dog” or “Parris Island, where it all began” he was there he knows all this. the motto shirts are cool when you go home or for the parents but when he goes out he wont wear that crap he’ll wear regular clothes. if your religious get the kid a rosary or st. michael pendant( protector of warriors), or the marine corps bible, just google it im sure youll find it with ease. if u arent the religious type, then he could use things like a nice uniform bag, or if hes in an infantry unit or if hes goin to be doing alot of training lik ethat then gear is always good, check out .
a digital camera would be nice that way he could send you pictures of himself and what hes doing to keep you posted
the kid will just be happy to see you, my parents flew my best friend and my girlfriend down to my graduation, that was cool to see them sitting there while i was about to be called a marine, think of what he also may need to buy when he goes off to MCT or SOI becuase the less we have to spend the better, i think when i first left bootcamp i was making around 500-575 a paycheck, thats every two weeks.

A really nice military watch is always welcome (one that can be set to show military time), failing that, a gift card, like American Express, then he can get what he wants and needs.

All the suggestions are good, especially the plaque and camera but …
my favorite would be a really good knife, say one from CRKT (dragon fixed blades, M-16 folders), Bench Made (black class?), Gerber (Applegate-Fairbairn folder) for about $100 or SOG if you have the bucks (pentagon pup or seal pup (seal knife for the USMC?)).
I think “bosox4life” misquoted the blackhawk link – he gave a recruiter link while you should go to a store that sells blackhawk gear, like.
