Congratulations on choosing the Marines . You gotta run every day, do push ups, pull ups , sit ups, and Eight count body builders. If you dont know what Eight count body builders are you had better find out because you will be doing them in Boot Camp.

If you're being shipped off to boot camp in a month, you're probably ready for it. Just don't drop the ball while you've got it, keep up your exercise routine, don't binge eat, etc.

Practice your cleaning skills! Wipe down your windows, clean out the old toilet, get used to doing things quickly. Cleaning the crap out of everything day by day is an essential part of any military training.

If you haven't started preparing and you're leaving next month its already kinda late. Pull ups, sit ups, and running are what you should be working on since that is what composes a Marine physical fitness test (PFT). For your initial PFT you will only have to run a mile and a half but you have to do it in a certain amount of time. Before boot camp I drank every day, smoked 1 1/2 packs of newports, and never ran but I did fine so don't stress it too much, they'll build you up while you're there. Have fun.

Start running...and keep it up. If you can do 3 miles without stopping you'll be in decent shape for boot camp.

Also, if you aren't familiar with firearms, go to a local gun club and learn about them. Shoot rifles, shotguns, and pistols enough to get comfortable with them. Nothing is more annoying to a Marine than a boot that can't shoot (you being the "boot").

Best of luck in the Marines, and thanks for stepping up to serve.

Talk to your recruiter, he can tell you all you need to know. I suggest knowing rank structure and the 11 general orders of a sentry. and do alot of pushups.
