no, its marines. swat dont use m203s, they use the hk single shot, 40mm launcher. and there weapons are capable of full auto so its marines, with m4a1s

As I recall the UDT’s were formed in the early days of WWII because of their reliance on scuba gear to operate successfully and the fact that the “aqualung” was invented by a frenchman shortly before WWII.

well said, to give an example of how it could be easy to improve on the original would be to see the flaws that were in the original and correct them, also as time passes, more technology becomes available to help fill gaps and stop errors…not sure if that made sense if you read it back to yourself…not too good at articulating myself after midnight :| care kinda goes out the window…

UDT’s we’re around during WWII and established after the end of WWI. So, I guess you can say that historically NAVSPECWAR has been around before the SAS.

Have any of you USMC trained with the Royal Marines?

  16. By madcapHPS on Sep 14, 2008 | Reply

M4’s at less than 100 yards? Probably 75% center of mass hits. Recon trains about 500 times (no kidding) more with live ammo than the average grunt.

I’m more interested in seeing the targets after they were serviced (shot) than to see some guy unloading rounds and who-knows-what. How many of those rounds were actually in the “bowling pin”?

ok so everyone talks about the SAS alot. and yes, they were the ‘First’ CQC or CQB group out there. but the idea of it started here. after whoever was killing people from the clock tower with a rifle was when everyone realized we need a team who could clear a dangerous area fast. again SAS was first. but not the best. and i also noticed everyone loves the SAS after call of duty 4…seriously…life’s not a video game. its hard to be the first, but its easy to improve on the original.

hey, killer, of the three branches of the US military to have been formed in 1775, we were the last.
    Army - June 14
    Navy - Oct 13
    USMC - Nov 10

    just fyi

The SAS was around in WWII. Kennedy signed off on creating the Seals in the 1960s, so I think you’ve got your facts wrong.

the Marines that really need this training dont get it.
    same with the marksmanship courses.
most time only NCOs are accepted to go.
