    seems to me you know just enough about the Corps to get yourself into trouble. at 3:08 the caption clearly says recruiter and trainer, trainers are not DI’s, I remember quite well, there is a difference. Although I do not call myself “ex” some folks had a bad experience, and see it like a divorce, IE “ex-marine” may seem more appropriate for them, and if you noticed the producers called him a Marine until he refered to killing inocents.     This dude is a lier, when you become a sergeant in the Corps, you can make rank by deciding to be either a recruiter or a drill instructor. You DON’T get to do both, it is one or the other. If this guy was a Marine, he is one of those backstabbers who is making the Corps look bad through lies for his own selfish gain. He is either that or a complete ass fraud. This is BS.

    I think mate, that what you use as ‘credentials’ is what actually shows the weakness in your argument. You are surrounded by people who are totally committed to the Marine Corps. Have you ever actually MET a war resister who had quit the military? This is how they look and sound. You should see both sides, cos it always look slanted when you only experience one perspective. I mean that as a constructive comment.

    “no one can take it away from you. once a marine, always a marine.” It’s not a stretch at all. Nobody TOOK it away from him. He DECIDED he wasn’t a Marine anymore. Is that not obvious??
    His rank doesn’t make much difference to what he saw and took part in. If you want to check out whether he was a Marine or not, there’s better ways than arguing on YouTube about it.

    well then focus on the other part. for a former recruiter AND former drill instructor to be JUST a staff sergeant hard to believe.

    and btw, former marine is even a bit of a stretch, let alone “ex marine.” marines are taught that once you earn the title of united states marine, no one can take it away from you. once a marine, always a marine. there are no ex marines. either this guy is full of shit or the film maker doesnt know a fucking thing about the corps.

    Well, guess what he was really a Marine. And maybe someone who retired calls themselves FORMER Marine, whereas someone who decided to leave for conscientious reasons is an ex-Marine. Ever think about that?
    He’s doing Marines a favor, they should never be sent to kill and die for a lie. It wasn’t W.M.D. it was O.I.L.

    my whole family has been in the marines, we are friends with marines and i am going to be a marine.

    i have NEVER heard a FORMER marine call themselves an “ex-marine”

    its always FORMER marine.

    its also strange that an NCO who was both a recruiter AND a drill instructor(both jobs that are really only used to make rank) would ONLY be a staff sergeant.

    this video seems like bullshit to me
