The ROKMC is the 2nd largest marine corps in the world with over 27,000 soldiers. It is the most formidable branch of the ROK military, with an undefeated record and a 1:25 kill ratio during the Vietnam War. Amongst the South Korean military personnel, only the marines are priviledged to wear a red badge, which identifies them as part of the ROKMC.

    my dad was in rokmc he was a staff seargant he said the training was killer but he enjoyed the time in the corps

    I will tell you do for you. I spent 20 plus years in the military do if for the right reasons. It will made a better person in the end. I know allot of people who did and they handle life allot better. GOOD LUCK

    I think it is funny when the couch solders try to compare a military. Theirs is one tough fighting force. I watched and trained with them. Just don’t on the wrong end of the ROK military. I do have allot of respect for them,, just a a real solder who was there.

    To every freakin SOBs that are disrespecting Koreans: How long have your nations or civilizations existed? Korean civilizations existed for tens of thousands of years. Japanese repeated invaded Korea and were beaten back everytime. Oh yeah, there arent just animosity between China, Korea and Japan, Japan is universally disliked or outright hated by much of Asia.

    Also, the RoKMC is one of THE best soldiers on the planet. Why do you think US rangers and special forces go to the KMC to train?
