i had super drill in ft. benning sand hill in 1990 and it was tough but the best time i ever had, if it is easy now then the army wont get the quality that the army needs what a shame that the little guys cant handle a little shouting !!! this makes me sick this is the army not the girl scouts

thats bullshit. i just graduated from basic not too long ago and they yelled all the time and smoked the piss out of us in the middle of the night tons of times. i never got kind words. they may be told to be nicer but that doesnt mean all the drill sgts are nicer.

Well on the subject of food…the skinny guys (definitely including me) got to eat whatever was left over from field chow, that is if we had field chow, if we had leftovers. But this is all coming from Infantry OSUT. I dunno how the others are, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t summer camp.

I’ll admit, it ain’t like it should be, or how I thought it was, but it sure as hell ain’t Boy Scouts. No cellphones. I’d say about 6 hours of sleep, maybe 7 on Saturday night. But I can remember several times we only had two or three hours. Yelling is pretty frequent, but there are times when the DS sits down and talks with everyone. I still remember DS Kirby, DS Zschach, DS Holland, CPT Heim (the dude is fucking crazy I swear). We sure as HELL didn’t get all we can eat.
