Marine Infantryman are mighty warriors, I do not deny this, but you can not compare a POG marine with a (11 bravo) Infantryman – sorry.
Marines have value because of trendy america: A long time ago marines did something outstanding – so they claimed they were the best. Then americans hear this and start preaching it also.
It’s like saying black people are stupid because folks said it in slavery days when blacks were denied a education.
Sayings are only trends that continue…

Okay…I’ve worked with soldiers a plenty…I know the differences between the branches…been playing this game for a while now. I dont recall two weeks of “perfecting drill” as you put it, either. And if you don’t think drill improves discilpline, you sir, are sorely mistaken. I learned alot from drill…especially attention to detail.

Brandon, great name; we have something in common.
Marines boot is 13 weeks; 1 week swimming and 2 weeks perfecting drill (additional weeks vs army 9) – this does improve discipline and teamwork.
Army OSUT is 15 weeks of rifle training. You start combat training after 2 weeks, while marines are in boot camp – army infantry osut are training in weapons. By week- 13 while marines finally finish boot and begin weapons training – Army (11 bravo’s) are already leathal weapons.

yes 98 percent of the Marines complete soi training, so how is army infantry better when the marines are the ones that cleared 30,000 houses in fallujah and were the first ones into iraq and will be the last ones out. Im not saying i do not support Army, trust me i do my unlce is National Guard, but he said it himself Marines are fearless. I want to be U.S. Marine in 2 years! God Bless the USA and the U.S. Military!

So a Marine cook(mos) with 3 weeks of rifle training – can compete with a Army Infantryman(mos) who has 16 weeks of rifle training?

One must remember that all Marines are 0300′s
that means even those who are wingers are 0300′s.

There is no comparison between Army Infantry OSUT and Marine Boot. Army Infantry OSUT is alot harder.

Marine Boot does not train to the level infantry OSUT trains soldiers to.

The real comparison is, Army Basic training and Marine Boot. There the difference is: The Army doesn’t really train basic infantry skills in basic. While Marine Boot, does train everyone in basic infantry skills. Thats why Marine Boot is longer, the added time, for the basic infantry training.

Army Infantry will destroy the entire marine force! LOL… 3 weeks of rifle training dont make you a Infantryman! Now the “Marines infantry” those who completed [SOI] are bad ass and could challenge the Army infantry – but you marines who think your a infantryman because you did 3 weeks of rifle training will be destroyed by the REAL Army infantry!

  16. By sociopathiclove on Apr 8, 2009 | Reply

Marines think there bad ass cause the endure 3 punk ass weeks of rifle training. LOL… So how does this compare with 13 weeks of OSUT Infantry training? 3 weeks of gun training – can’t compare to 13 weeks of gun training. LOL…

Don’t anyone joining my CORPS think it will be a cake walk. it is not the army, navy or air force not even the coast guard. you live by the MARINE motto even when you get out. boot camp starts as soon as you hit the yellow foot prints.
