Almost. The French Foreign Legion is probably the most difficult.

It’s not as hard as lying on a battlefield with bullets flying over your head and an enemy who is desperately trying to pump as much shrapnel into your general vicinity as possible.

It’s is tough but if you go in physically prepared (fit) and keep your wits about you you will do fine.
The mental stress is the harder part. It is what makes the physical harder than it really is.

It is quite difficult both physically and pschologically. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing depends on you. Some people find it the best part of their lives. Others spend the rest of their lives fantasizing about killing the drill instructer.

USMC boot camp is the absolute most rigorous mental and physical training in the United States as far as basic training goes (of course special ops training will be more difficult). The feeling you get after you’ve completed it though is well worth it. My dad and brother did it and I’m about to leave on Monday for Parris Island. They’ve warned me already that absolutely NOTHING can prepare you. Best of luck if you consider the Marines for yourself, and the person you like- he/she will come back a very different (but better) person.

Pat M is wrong on more than one level. They aren’t the hardest in the world, they aren’t the most elite in the world.
The Marines is harder then the other armed forces but nothing a fit person who is determined can’t handle.
