I’ve never been to boot camp. I just want to know what will happen. If I fail can I join the Army? Or can I still try to join the Marines?

Once you fail Marine Corps boot camp you can never attempt it again..

and I dont know if you can try out for the other services if you have failed USMC boot camp.

If you fail in boot camp, you are normally are recycled to one of the following training platoons. There is really a “no fail”.
You are just given another chance in a following training platoon.

There is no failing the Marine Boot Camp. If you fail in a
course. They will put you ind a different camp, labeled 4013.
That is a “two week setback” from your regular basic training.
and when they put you back with another company. That is
two more weeks you have to make up. And if you keep on
failing, and keep getting sent back to 4013. You may end up
your whole enlistment just in boot camp. Because once you
    “sign.” You are government property.

If you washed out due to a severe injury sustained at boot camp, you can possibly have the option of going back or reenlisting in another branch once your injuries heal up, and the docs determine that the injury will not affect you later on.

If you keep failing requirements and tests as a recruit, you get recycled back to the company behind you. If you went through many companies (there is no set # of times) the Company Commander can discharge you for not meeting requirements and that can have a negative impact on joining other branches. The Marine Corps will not take you again once that has happened.

    wow seriously, dont bullshit him.

    The answer is YES!

The Marine Corps will keep you as long as they can, because they need manpower. If you fail at the rifle range for example, you might get another week to try out again. Same for swim qual and written tests.
If you fail at your 2nd-5th chance, you get dropped to the company a week behind in training.

However once you get into the Fleet, and try out for a specialized school, if you quit, thats it. Breaking your foot would give you another chance later on tough.
Cause we dont want quitters as officers of snipers for example. Its endemic, you quit today in training, you’ll probably quit in the field.

Bootcamp aint shit, it teaches you the basics for life later on . It’s still the easiest part of your career and you better not slack off from there or youre gonna make it really hard for yourself.

Wow… these answers are all over the place!! I think each response is based on personal experience, so I’d say they’re all telling the truth as they see it, from their perspective.

I’ve been working with parents who have recruits in boot camp for nearly 4 years now, and the answer just isn’t a simple one. It depends on why the recruit failed. If it’s a stress situation, where they’re just not “assimilating” (which is a nice way of saying they just can’t hack it) then there is likely no way they’ll be accepted into any other branch of the military. If the reason for the failure is related to an injury, it depends on whether or not the recruit will ever be able to withstand the rigors of USMC Boot Camp, as determined by doctor at MCRD. If not, then no. If there is a medical condition that weeds the recruit out, then they’re done with the Marine Corps, and probably all other branches too!!

Contrary to popular belief, recruits DO fail USMC boot camp. DI’s push the recruits real hard, and tell them things like there is “no failure” to motivate them to better performance. The truth is, not everyone is cut out to be a Marine, and those who aren’t go home knowing they gave everything they had to give in their attempt.
