How strict is the Marine Corps on the disciplinary waivers?

I’ve been arrested my share of times and I’m curious as to how hard it will be to be accepted into the Marine Corps. Simple things like curfews, public intoxs, driving under suspension. I think I will have a total of 6 or 7 waivers.

Well since they need people to go and kill civilians in Iraq, I don’t think they would mind.

Curfew violations are status offenses… infractions… they don’t really count. public intoxication and driving on a suspended WILL count, but if they were misdemeanor offenses, (and they typically are) they should be eligible for waiver. One more thing… they can be waived if you successfully completed your term of probation or paid the fines/fees as ordered. If you have unfinished legal business, it won’t be waived. Finish it, then request the waivers.
The best thing you can do is talk to a recruiter and see what you’re up against… not just with the discipline record, but with all the other requirements to enlist. If this is the only issue and you do well on your ASVAB, your recruiter will run circles around himself getting those waivers for you.

It will be 1 waiver for all misdemeanor offenses and you’ll have to explain the circumstances for each offense. As long as their misdemeanors and you’re up front about it with your recruiter you should be fine.

Yeah, i had like 6 or 7 arrests as well, you can still get in, but you’ll have to either come in open contract or infantry regardless of your test scores or qualifications.
If you really want to come in as a specific mos, wait a few years, expunge your record, and they’ll never know
