Be in good shape and accept that you are going to get yelled at. Prepare to adjust your way of thinking.

mentally…there really is no preperation, just remember they…drill sgt’s. want to break everyone down to see how you deal with a stressful situation. Physically….? Lots of push up’s and running…with boots on. And make sure your chest hits the ground!

    Mentally:
You should study up on your us history.

Physically: You should start running couple miles a day then as you get better do more and more. Make sure you can be yelled at with out reacting. Do some pull ups, push ups, chin ups, sit ups that kind of stuff.

Rent the movie “An Officer and a Gentleman”. Even though he was going through Officer Training School a drill Sergeant was training him similarly to boot camp. Good Luck!

meh i went through marine corps recruit training and it was easy, fleet was harder as a grunt. Back when i just ran everyday about a mile and did normal push ups and sit ups. Just be ready for yelling but even at that iv heard its changed.

Make sure your hair is short and that you have no whiskers as they will all come off.
Start off (if you’re not doing this already) running a mile and work up to three miles a day. It’s tough but you can do it. Do as many sit-ups as you can and work on pull-ups and push-ups.
Understand that the Marine Corps isn’t looking for a few good sissies. They’re looking for a few good men to join our brotherhood. I’ll promise you this ……. when you graduate boot camp you’ll be proud, your family and friends will also be proud of you.

Running, and push-ups. Now the hard part. Understand that you must be prepared with a few minutes sleep each night, to be in formation while battling 100 other boots, to SS&Shave.

You’ll have no privacy; none. You’ll be ridden constantly, whether your right or wrong; you are ALWAYS WRONG, but respectful.

Don’t question anything. Not ever! Don’t show a hint of displeasure, no matter what you are accused of, or told to do.

Try to blend into the background, and don’t volunteer for anything.

    Good luck, and God Bless!

run full speed at a wall until you hit it full force. Repeat until unconcious. If you wake up and want to do it again then you are ready.
