how many push-ups, pull-ups, and miles should I be able to do prior to entering USMC boot camp?

    50 push ups 25 pull ups and at least three miles without slowing or walking.

    Dont limit yourself..Just continue to work very hard..

    Just run a course that is three miles and make sure you can finish it under 26 minutes..

    Dont get your mind set that this or that number is “cool”..just push yourself and when you arrive at boot camp you will do fine.

    I don’t blame you for feeling “ill at ease” you should. You need to be able to do more than the minimum because once your at boot camp you wont perform as well due to lack of sleep, stress, and even climate change (affects run big time IMHO). Be able to do 15% more than the minimum required or better. If you can’t keep up, no worries you have plenty of opportunity to improve in boot camp, ask any vet.

    Hmm…a lot of the answers I am seeing are a little exaggerated. Here is what you need to max out on the PFT:

    20 pulls up
    100 crunches in 2:00 minutes
    3 Miles in 18:00 minutes

    You would want to get as close to those as possible. But your best bet would be to focus on just exceeding the minimum and then working your way up from there. I would say if you could have something like:

    15 pulls ups
    75 crunches
    21:00 minute three mile.

    Then you would be sitting very well. Remember you have about 13 weeks to up those scores. Right now I am not doing so great my numbers are:

    9-10 pulls ups
    60-70 crunches
    11:00 minute 1.5 mile

    I need to increase them. But I just try to focus on picking up additional ones here and there. Hope that helps.
