How hard is US Navy boot camp, compared to Army or Marines?
July 21st, 2009 | by MakingMarines |che_kyo_booty asked:
I’m guessing that only someone who’s actually been through both US Navy and either the Army or Marine boot camp/basic training/recruit training will be able to give an insightful answer. But I will take any input on how difficult the Navy recruit training actually is. Please no hype, only true stories. Thanks.

Not as hard as the Marines or Army, but much tougher than Air Force.

I been thru Navy Basic, but that was a long time ago. I doubt if you’re going to find a whole lot of people who have been to both, although I have seen some Marine Basic. IMHO, Navy is the easiest, but I cant know for sure. Either way, it’s all about messing with your head; do what your told, and its not so bad.

The people I know who have been through navy and army basic say that army is harder, but that was before the sissy-fied army basic, so who knows now? Neither hold a candle to the marine corps recruit depot.

I was in the Marine Corp, a friend of mine choose the Navy, and my brother was in the Army, after telling boot camp stories, the Navy was a piece of cake. My brother laughs at me that I was stupid enough to join the Corp with the toughest and longest boot camp. I tell you this, I wouldn’t have traded it for either of the other two though.

Any Soldier, Flier, or Sailor that wears the uniform is going to tell ya they had it the hardest in boot.
What’s hardest? Wondering what the hell ya got yourself into the first week. Missing your bed, your Mom, and sex, in that order, the second week. By the third week, it’s all about you being in shape and dedication. (read attitude). By the fourth week you have decided if you’re in or out. After that, if you still want in, you work your ass off. If you want out, you start planing to fail, and how to live with that.
In the end my friend, it is all about you. No matter what branch of the service you choose, boot camp will be a pisser.
That’s why the phase “wearing the uniform” means so much.
I wish you all the best.

Its not as tough as the Army or Marine training although diving under water when your in training in the Navy and youve got a limited time is scary.
