37 miles over sandy beaches in the rain carrying fully-loaded ruck sacks.

Jeez, I was just kidding and thought that was obvious…

Marine recruits go to boot camp, not basic…

A typical run is on average 1.5- 2.5 miles..

You start off at about one mile then you work your way up to three miles..

The running is one of the most over rated things in boot camp..You dont run every day and you dont run for miles and miles as some suggest..Those are just rumors..

In the Army we ran EVERY DAY except Sunday and I am going to assume that USMC Boot Camp has much higher and tougher standards than Army Basic Training. Once on active duty you run three times a week and do muscle failure twice a week, Sat and Sun is on your own (army).

I wish I could give you more detail about USMC, but I HAVE to assume that USMC has much tougher, higher discipline in PT (physical Training)

3 miles but the pace can be fast.

to get in, i was told to do 3 miles under 24 minutes.

in boot you probably go like 18-22 minutes.
