I would imagine it would be on the post where he did his training just like every other branch and Paris Island.

Well if he is just out of boot camp it’s should be at MCRD (Marine Corps Recruitng Depot) San Diego… that’s right by the San Diego Airport. But if he’s graduating from infantry school or something like that then that would be different.

I believe that the ONLY MCRD left on the west coast is San Diego…29P is probably ITR along with Pendelton.

MCRD San Diego is about 15 minutes away from the San Diego airport by cab or car.

When you go to the graduation look in the stands for a bunch of old men that are still FIT and it is a DI’s reunion that generally happens in late August. We have been up all night telling lies, ate morning chow in the mess because we MISS it and are ALL sharp. The oldest in the group is in his 80’s; SEMPRE FI!

GRADUATION is the HIGH POINT because we are reviewing our replacements.

I want to THANK YOU for supporting your son’s decision. It is an UGLY WAR, they ALL are but some of us step up to carry the weight of those that are just incapable of doing the HONORABLE DEED. I SALUTE your son for serving with HONOR and DEDICATION to the CORPS!
