DH asked:

I’m looking into joining The Marines, now here’s where I need help. Does someone know a good plan to go on to get in shape? I mean a food plan and exercise plan. What’s the best exercises to do and the best food to eat? Any help would be great. Thanks!!
This will be more like in a year, still doing school.

I have a lot of family in the Marines.
They all said that the people who did
best in boot camp were the runners.

could you post if this is in a couple of months for this summer or more like next year?? also your height and weight and your extimation of how big you are

a few general things. most marine type bodies aren’t very big. the best suggestion to survive the whole thing is to build up your resistance to lactic acid, this is done by doing high repititions. pick a weight you can get about 10 of and see if you can work your away up to 20 reps by adding one or two each week. run like they said. stretch

    Organic Food
    Salad
    Meat for Bones!
    Skim Milk
Run Run Run Work Out Work Out Ice Ice Ice
    Lipton Green Tea Bottles
Have a plan to run say 2 laps around the track or whatever you can run really fast.
then keep doin that for about 4 days with a rest or so then do another lap and keep on going…
Do stretches so you don’t get hurt

    LOTS OF WATER!!
    run run run

Run a lot, lift weights, do pushups and situps -these are probably the best exercises for you to get in shape for boot camp. As far as diet, you want to eat foods with protein(chicken, turkey, and other poultry) and a little extra fat (a steak once or twice a week won’t hurt but try to stay away from pizza as you don’t need the grease), lots of carbohydrates for energy(toast your bread and stay away from potato chips) , and lots and lots of vegetables. You’ll also need to think about taking in a little more salt as you’ll be sweating a lot during your training. Drink plenty of water and juice - stay away from sodas and alcohol - a few cups of coffee or a few glasses of tea a day are okay (you’ll find you’ll need the caffeine).

commendable!!! have you ever thought of the army instead??? Anyways you need to try to start running every day start doing alot of pushups andget conditionedfor hard core fitness. Nothing like in the gym. I would lay on the floor and do kicks until you cant take it anymore. and then do somemore. this marine exp. will put your body through things you never thought it could go through. No kidding Try not to eat or drink sugery stuff it slows you down and will mess with your energy. Try to do more starchy foods like potatoes and rice this will be alot of carbs but your body needs carbs for energy, Especially if you are going to be excersising it will not stick with you like if you were a couch slouch
