Do you really have to do 75 pushups in 2 minutes in Marines boot camp?

I read that you have to be able to do 75 pushups in two minutes to pass PRT in boot camp. Also, 75 situps and 20 pullups. Is this true because I tried it and I can only get 66 in two minutes and I’m in really good shape I’m 14.

Yea probably because: first the marines are hardcore mofos they are really intense dudes
second a 14 year old in “really good shape” and a 18 year old in really good shape are completely diffrent and if they do indeed do that then you probably wouldnt have to do that first day I’m guessing they tell u to do that first day then every other day till you an everyone else (who’s left) does it too

You do push-ups during PT or when your on the quarterdeck but you don’t do pushups as part of the Marine Corps PFT (Physical Fitness Test) The PFT consists of a 3 mile run (18 minutes will get you a perfect score), Marine Corps crunches (100 in 2 minutes will get you a perfect score here) and pull ups(20 will get you a perfect score here).
