Can you be married before you enter Marine boot camp?

My boyfriend and I have an agreement that if he joins the Marines , we would get married. He goes to boot camp in the fall but he says he might get in trouble if he gets married before boot camp because he signed up as a single person. Is this true? you can get married all he will have to do is go down and refill out the paper work. my brother went though the same thing about 2 months ago. he signed up for boot camp and then a few weeks later he and hi gf decided to get married and they were able to. they say he will get in trouble because it more paper work for the recruiters.

More paper work for the recruiters? That’s great, they need something to keep them busy so they don’t have time to stalk our high-schoolers.

Yes of course you can marry, but the paper work needs to be filled out – insurance and dependent stuff.

Yes, of course you can be married before boot camp. As everyone else mentioned, he just has to re-do the paperwork. I realize you are love-struck, but I suggest that you wait until he gets to his Permanent Duty Station before you get married though. This way he can get through training and you have the opportunity to get know the Marine life once he makes that transformation.
