Address labels on letters to USMC boot camp recruits?
June 18th, 2008 | by MakingMarines |Roxye asked:
I have a lot of free return address labels and I wanted to use them on my letters to my bf in usmc boot camp. Will he get in trouble for it? I know not to write on the back of envelopes or make kiss marks but address labels should be fine, right? I have no other use for the labels since I really don’t mail anything. Thanks for your help!

The drill instructors will probably make him read your letters to everyone in his platoon…
They will.. they did when I was in boot camp

They’re not allowed to read mail out loud. It never happened in my platoon. The return address labels don’t matter. Just be sure to address it to Rct Last Name, First Initial Middle Initial Last 4SSN and you’ll be fine. Make sure you write him daily if you can. Letters are sanity in boot camp, even if it’s just telling him about your day and that you love him. I kept all my letters from boot and read them each a dozen times when I was down there
