Court records indicate four Marines acknowledged they had roles in the robbery, sexual assault and murder of a Camp Pendleton-based Iraq veteran and his wife last month in Riverside County.

    Marsoc has been modeled after 75th. NO UNIT IN THE MILITARY is harder to stay in than 75th. You always have to earn your spot at the table. Job security is never guaranteed there. You are always outstanding or your gone. The Rangers are a Tier 2 asset. Recon isn’t even a tier asset at all. Rangers are special operations. Marine Recon is not. Ranger recon detachment for the Army is the highest rated recon det in the WORLD.

    One last thing. Parachuting, though Fun is Tactically suicide. Air Mobile is THE only way to deploy. Do Rangers do Amphibious Landings? Nope they need the Air Force to get them where thay are going. Then SOAR.
    We Need Rangers. We also Need Marines. Both are highly trained to do Different Jobs.

    I don’t know if you are aware that the main marine combat “Unit” now is the MEU (SOC)USMC Marine Expeditionary Units (Special Operations Capable) Which BTW has Air Support HARRIERS, AH-1 Sea Cobra’s, Abrahms Tanks, LCAC’s, Blackhawks, Artillery, Etc… Not to mention IF they need REAL Specialist Help they work with the REAL BAD ASSES, The Navy SeALS.

    You don’t know much do you? Are you a Ranger wannabe? The Marines DO have special forces. The WHOLE Marine force is a fighting force, whereas the Army has a Monsterous Logistics tail. Out of a Division of approx 20,000 soldiers (who have all done just basic) only around 9,000 are actually Infantrymen.
    Don’t split hairs. Each has an Important Role to fill. Rangers are LIGHT infantry, though elite. Marines have a DIFFERENT Role.

    90% of the Special Operations Units of all four branches of the service are in the Army. This includes Rangers, Delta force and Green Berets. Unfortunately Marine Force Recon doesn’t even exist anymore, their operators were merged to form the new MARSOC. While there is still Force recon in the reserves, 1st Force, 2nd Force, and 5th Force are all de-activated. Battalion DRP (Deep Reconnaissance Platoons) do the Force mission at this time.

    Army are Special Forces, Marines have none.

    LOL…first off I was raised by a Marine hence my Father! I have the up most respect for Marines. However U.S Rangers are part of the Special Services Force! Marines are basically part of the Navy Department… Army Rangers is a speciality. To become a Ranger you have to be selected into the class and not fail out of it and a lot of people do fail out.. to become a marine all you need is a passing asvab score.. that’s the difference.

    An Army Ranger is part of Special Operations Command (SOCOM) as the elite light infantry source.

    An enlisted member of the 75th Ranger Regiment has gone through Basic Training, AIT, RIP, Airborne, and eventually other training such as SERE-C, Jumpmaster, Air Assault, Pathfinder, and Ranger School. Not knocking the Marines…they are good at what they do but I highly doubt many Marines have those qualifications, if any. Semper Fi! LOL…

    And… All Marines Stop training after basic. You Boofhead. Dude, Rangers are Bad Ass. But they are trained to do only special types of Jobs, Really Well. Over speacilized.
    Marines, are trained to do all Jobs Well. Marines do Airborne training as well depending on your MOS.
    In the Marines, EVERY Marine is a Rifleman, Even the Airedales. In the Army…
    BTW WHERE do the Army send their Shooters to be trained as Snipers? To the MARINES!

    So are you saying all whites deserve to be mistreated because 3,500 blacks were lynched? Regardless of the reason they were lynched?

    My suggestion is that if you hate white people because 1.7% of them owned slaves, and another percentage of American blacks owned slaves, than you should leave America, and go back to Africa.

    Once again you are comparing rangers supposed special forces to Regular grunts who by the way you may not belive with shorter training can and sometimes do operate on the level of special forces but really why dont you compare one of the many Marine S.O.C units to rangers oh and lastly why is it regular marines kept mogadishu under control but your Rangers couldnt if theyre so muchh better?

    To be a Ranger in a Ranger Battalion you have to be Airborne Qualified, to be a Marine you dont. Ranger school is 9 weeks long. RIP(Ranger Indoctrination Program) is 4 weeks long before being assigned to the Ranger Regiment. Pre-Ranger (before admittance to Ranger School) is 2 weeks long. Airborne School is 4 weeks long. Infantry Basic/AIT is 14 weeks long. Thats 33 weeks training for a Ranger Battalion Member “Minimum”. How Long is USMC Boot Camp, School of Infantry? 18 weeks total?

    Actually I know some Rangers that did the course just to get the “Tick in the Box” for the Promotion track. They ARE Real REMF’S

    He is full of shit.
    The Marines fulfill a different role to Special Forces. Special Forces are awesome at their Job. Marines (Mostly - There ARE some ELITE Marines) are superbly trained Infantry.
    We (the USA) have the BEST trained Troops in the WORLD (All of them!)
